What is counselling?
Counselling is a "talking therapy" that takes place in a safe and non-judgemental environment. It gives you time out to discuss your concerns with an independent person. Counsellors provide challenges and information, but they do not advise you on how to live your life.
How can counselling help me?
Counselling can help you see yourself and your life from a fresh perspective. Sharing your thoughts with a counsellor can help lighten your burden and give you time and space to strengthen your coping skills.
How do I know if I need counselling?
Many people are unaware that counselling can help them. The list below covers just a few of the reasons that people seek counselling:
- Feelings of worthlessness
- Long or short-term bouts of unhappiness
- Alcohol or other drug problems
- Fear of socialising or going outside
- Anger; Inability to deal with conflict
- Work stress; workplace bullying

This program is targeted to people who are on a low income.
